Our 1 year old puss, has been limping looking wonky and kind of throwing his hip out. An xray has shown a possible issue with his growth plates

Does anyone have any knowledge?

He is recovering from an overdose at the moment, so waiting to discuss with the vet....it's been quite a coupe of days.

I’m so sorry to hear of your poor wee man’s rough time! You must be so worried.

My Russian girl has growth plates that never closed; we found out when she was around 2 and had a swollen leg. Vet couldn’t really explain it, but suspected that at some point she fractured the plate, and that resulted in damage to the lymphatic system there, so she has a permanent “thunderpaw”. It’s never really caused her any issues other than occasionally she gets a bit of a limp if she does something daft like try to climb curtains. I hope your boy feels better very soon!
