Found a kitten

So I'm not too sure what to do.
Well I do, but i haven't found it.
I've had cats/kittens all my life. So has her husband. But she is inside what to do. Thought I'd come to MN.

My nan is travelling in her motorhome, yesterday afternoon she heard a squeak/cry coming from the bushes. She thought it was a bird and left it.
It's been going on all day and this evening, she's looked and there's a baby kitten in there crying.
It had been crying 1 1/2 days straight. (Could of been longer but she started hearing it when she pulled up)
She says it was stranded and alone crying for age's and looked starving.
Her husband took it and gave it some milk through a syringe.
She says it's too young for sexing, but it though that usually happened at about 3-4 weeks.
So it must be young.

I've told her if she can't find a mum for it (they've gone looking, I've told them they're more than likely not going to find her if kittens been crying for so long)
They must bring it home.
She is unsure. She says she won't leave it to die, but is unsure if to bring it home.

I need things to say to her to bring it home, me and my husband will take it in, and I know it will need a lot of needs atm, but I am willing to stay up every 4 hour feeding.

What can I say to her?

Travelling where? Are there any local rescues? In the meantime yes, if it's been crying for so long, she should take it in, but she needs expert help really.

She is not anywhere local, in the middle of nowhere.

I will let her know the vet is where she needs to take it, To be examined.

If it has been dumped, or abandoned I am going to regime the beauty.

It's a grey tabby.

She says it's so young it could eat/drink off a plate.

Ask her to get some special cat milk and soft food for it. Cow's milk is not good.

Just feed it tiny amounts at a time, as it's little tummy will struggle at first.

My friend found 2 kittens not long ago, they phoned the rspca who came out but told them unfortunately the put the unwanted kittens to sleep in most cases. One of the poor little kittens died but they kept the other (Well her mum and dad took it in on their farm). This might not be the case depending one where you are I suppose it depends what the situation is in your local rspca

That's a beautiful kitten. If you can get goat milk try that as it is better than cow's milk. The kitten is probably dehydrated and also needs to be kept warm until you can get him/her to a vet or rescue. It would be ideal if you could find Mama Cat but that may not happen. It's so fortunate that Baby Kitty has found very kind human friends.

We would not let it die, we wouldn't any animal.

At the moment she has been feeding it warm cows milk , through a syringe
And tried some soft jelly meat mashed up.

They went looking for mum, no sign at all unfortunately :(

Poor thing, for whatever reason it’s all alone. I can’t see a mum cat leaving a kitten alone for that long.

How long till she gets home?.

She isn't coming home until Tuesday :( She's 100miles away. But assured me she will not leave it to die and if there is no mommy cat by tuesday, it will be coming home to me.

(I've even offered to post her some of my breastmilk!! )

Yes it is she's a beautiful Lhasa. Clearly very interested lol.

There will be a vet somewhere nearby. Look on the findavet.rcvs.org.uk/home/ website by postcode or area. Or google for the nearest rescue.

Cow's milk is not good... The kitten looks approx 4 weeks old to me and could potentially eat mashed up cat food off a plate or clean hands.

Even if mum cat is found, she's going to be a stray so they all need help.

I told her cows milk is not good for the kitten. It's all she had just to give it a drink. She won't use it no more.

Can she give it water instead?

She said she will stick to mashed food.
She had to hand feed it.

She can give it water and mashed up cat food. She should also use a damp piece of cotton wool or kitchen roll to wipe over it's bottom and genitals to get it to wee/poo. It looks very bright.

Water is fine. Try a shallow dish though because kitty might not have much idea how to drink from a bowl.

No more cow milk. Could kill the poor cat.

Looks about five weeks to me so should be able to use a litter box and eat mushy food. They can use a box with sand, dry soil or even torn up kitchen roll in for now.

If they can get to a supermarket, any kitten food will work. It just might need a bit of a mash and a drop of water added. Purenia in the purple bag is decent and will mush down with a bit of hot water.

Can you share their general location? I bet we can find somewhere to get supplies.

Is she hissing at them? A feral kitten hisses but if she isn’t she’s a dumped pet.

She's dumped the cows milk. She's feeding it water and mashed food.

I'm not sure on her location. I will ask when I speak to her. Signal is bad.

It isn't hissing at her. It's trying to meow but can't. Just squeaking and crying.

She's not sure what to do with it. Last night after she fed it and got it to sleep, She put it in some hay and staw outside. She can't keep it inside the motorhome because of the dog. It was there this morning and she has brought it back in for the day.

Arghh I wish she could bring it to me now!

Oh no. Don't put it outside. Can they get a box, pack it out with a towel and keep it in the bathroom at night. I couldn't leave it outside, it might get hurt or go off wondering.

It's very, very dangerous to put it outside. A fox would eat it in a second. Even motor homes have separate 'rooms' don't they? So it could be in the bedroom bit? Or at least in the toilet. There has to be somewhere they can keep it away from the dog.

What would the dog do to the kitten?

To be blunt, it'll probably get eaten if left outside. It's a tiny scared baby and needs to be kept safe. Are they in the UK? If so the CPL can probably help you.

She brought it in this morning. Gave it some food. She said it was very poorly yesterday and was stumbling about in the bowl of food.

She rang the vet this morning. Was meant to be seen at 4.30 this aft.

Unfortunately kitty died at 2.25 :( I'm so disappointed!

Oh poor little thing. Better that the kitten died after being looked after, than alone in a bush.
