What breed are these?

I'm preparing to fly my cats to the USA and there are lots of airlines with restrictions on Persians.

I was told when I got them that they were Persian but they don't look to me like they have snub noses. Maybe they're a mix?

I won't know for sure until I get them blood tested, 2 weeks before travel but I've booked their flight now and they want the breed.

What do you all think?

No idea, but my goodness, they are stunning. 😍 Though I would have the first one would have dried quicker out on the washing line, rather than a dish tray. 😁

Crossbreed

MissStegosaurus · 26/05/2018 09:16

The one on the right looks like a Persian cross to me. neither of them look purebred.

Allergictoironing · 26/05/2018 09:20

There's sure to be an option for crossbreed/moggy/domestic long hair.

I'm guessing the issue with them flying Persians is the potential breathing issues, and possibly due to the head shape so they can't get oxygen masks on properly in an emergency. Yours don't have the "classic" Persian head shape so should be fine.

Look like standard moggies to me with a little something thrown in, particularly the tufty eared one.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/05/2018 09:37

Domestic longhair? Domestic semi-longhair?.

Toddlerteaplease · 26/05/2018 09:44

Definitely some Persian in there somewhere. But not full Persian.

🤣 Love it!

They're a breed of their ownGrin . The look like a cross to me. They're beautiful. Do they have breathing issues?

HardAsSnails · 26/05/2018 10:27

Some sort of crossbreed/moggie mix, perhaps a little bit of Maine Coon as well as Persian in the mix.

DeadButDelicious · 26/05/2018 10:34

I would go with Domestic Longhair. They are definitely some kind of absolutely beautiful cross. Seriously they are two beautiful cats! Bit of Maine coon in there maybe? Just gorgeous.

jaxhwc · 26/05/2018 10:45

☺️ they really are so precious to me. They were strays can you believe!? We got them from a lady who rescues cats, she had about 20 in a tiny flat. The one in the washing up tray has one blue eye and one green.

I am selling all my possessions to pay to fly them. I just can't leave them there.

They're called khizumi (long haired one) which means 'elf feet' because when her hair is long you can just see her feet poking out and the other is called fruiti. The rescue lady named them lol.

perf that had me laughing! She gets into everything, back of the kitchen cupboard is a favorite.

Dead, now you say that fruiti has a brother with a main like a Maine coon, he has blue eyes, all white too 😍

Just put domestic longhair! That’s what I’m going to do with my Maine Coon boy when we go overseas.

MrsSchadenfreude · 26/05/2018 10:52

He has tufty ears like yours. 😻

Poppins2016 · 26/05/2018 10:59

I have a 1/4 Persian tortoiseshell and her bone structure is similar to your cats.

Your girls are beautiful!

DeadButDelicious · 26/05/2018 11:44

My boys mum was a Maine Coon, we saw her but his dad was some random old ginger moggie. He's absolutely enormous. I dread to think how big he would of been had we not had him 'arranged'. The ginger mog genes were strong and he looks like a particularly big version of his dad. No tuftiness. We love him very much.

Beautiful cats, I'd just go with the crossbreed / domestic long hair option.

jaxhwc · 26/05/2018 13:40

Oh he's lovely!!

Oh he's lovely

He's in bad books! We've just had to rescue a frog from his furry grasp. It was hopping round the living room! Shock

BellMcEnd · 26/05/2018 18:51

They are beautiful. Best of luck with the flights

Both too pretty to be persians.Grin

ALongHardWinter · 29/05/2018 19:36

Unusual cat bed you've got there OP! Grin Seriously,I think they look like a Persian cross. Their faces don't look like pure Persians. The one not on the dish drainer looks very like one that my parents had years ago. He was a cross between a Persian and domestic shorthair/Turkish Van cat.
