Please help with ant killer!

Wasn't sure for a title for this but basically we have an ant infestation in the 'lean to' which is basically the small garagey bit between the back door and the garden. I'm unsure about using normal ant killer in case it harms the cat. Please could you suggest something? TIA.

I use those plastic ant traps.

We got home from holiday to find an infestation in the bedroom! We also used the plastic ant traps and they seem to have disappeared thankfully.

I think ours came from Homebase but I would think anywhere like that would sell them.

Thanks for your advice. I've put them down on Thursday night and this morning there was still loads. I've bleached the floor and there was none but now a couple have started coming in again. I've put one by the back door and the other in the kitchen. Do they take a few days to work?
