Limping cat

Morning, our girl cat (nearly 3) is limping this morning. We have had a look and can’t see an injury and it doesn’t appear to hurt her. She was in overnight, spent the night on DD’s bed and I noticed it as I let her out this morning. Any ideas? (Obviously will be taking her to the vets)

Something stuck in a paw-thorn maybe?

Both me and DH have looked and can’t see anything either stuck in it or any injury. She’s happy to sit on it and was just using it to scratch.

Sometimes they seem to just slightly sprain a leg. At least in my experience often they will stop limping within 12-24 hours and be back to normal again, especially if you know she's been overnight and not done anything in particular to injure it. I would keep her in today and observe, and take to vet's tomorrow if no improvement.

Very often it's just a sprain. It's something I see a lot. If it's not better in a couple of days, or seems to be getting worse or there is anything else worrying, then take to the vet.

Thank you both. She’s fine in herself, sulking because we won’t let her out (so we can keep an eye on her).
