Eating Fledglings

I know there’s nothing I can do but (just in case there is a solution in a parallel universe ) .......

My well fed, much loved rescue cat is making the most of her first Spring by catching and eating apparently all the fledglings in the garden.

She already wears a bell and is kept in at night. Short of keeping her in all day too, there’s nothing I can do is there?

(Maybe she should e an indoor cat til later in the Summer......?)

The fledglings are usually only on the ground for two or three days before they learn to fly, so yes, l think you should try to keep your cat in just for a few days. Now that she knows there are baby birds outside, she won’t give up until she’s got them all.

Thank you.

We’ve kept her in.

She’s fed up, but not as fed up as the remaining fledglings would have been.

She was climbing into the trees and looking for the nests.

We’re not on speaking terms at the moment but she doesn’t seem to have noticed. Too busy staring hopefully out of the windows....
