Cat regurgitated food (warning - slightly graphic content!)

Hello everyone, my cat just scoffed a bowl of Thrive dry food, regurgitated some of it on the mat in the conservatory and then proceeded to eat the whole lot again! Confused I’ve never seen him do this before - should I be worried and is there anything I should do? I love my boy, but must admit I feel a bit queasy having witnessed all that at 8 o’clock in the morning!

He ate the sick?? Grim! That would make me feel queasy too!

They can be unappetising little beasts at times. Errr...shouldn't hurt however??

One of mine sometimes does this, sometimes if I'm really lucky she will throw it up and the other cat will start eating it before I get to clean it. Mine usually does it if they have eaten too much to fast. I don't think it's anything to worry about unless they are throwing up after every meal.

My dog does this all the time, except more likely it's drunk-kebab vomit from the local park than her own.

Seems pretty normal to me, but I have a low bar I guess.

Oh! Sorry, just saw this was under the litter tray!

Boycat regularly bolts down his food too fast then throws it straight up - I once watched him keep eating dry food and move his head to the side just in time to throw up, then carry on! Girlcat can be quite fond of this freshly regurgitated food - you can see the exact shape of the kibble & everything.

Usually they are completely self-regulating, and slowly graze off and on throughout the day, but now & again Boycat does this. We put it down to their first year living completely feral, when food would have been in short supply so if they saw it, they'd eat it.

Same here Allergic - you could see the exact shape of it and everything! Pretty grim but glad it's nothing to worry about by the sounds of it!

I was watching Secret life of the Zoo last night - apparently African Painted Dogs feed their puppies regurgitated meat when they are weaning them, so looks like it's nothing to worry about Grin

Oh god, my cat was sick a few months ago and I ran to get a cloth but the cat ate it all before OI got back with a cloth! Gross.
