Please recommend a catflap!

Hi all,

Dcat has been with us for five months, having been initially rehomed with his brother and then returned to the rescue place as his brother was bullying him and they were both so stressed they had urinary crystals. Dcat likes to go out within reason and seems to have got on fine outdoors, but in the last week or so (that I know of) another cat has been coming inside and eating his food. He freaks out and runs upstairs when he hears the catflap open, and generally seem a bit fed up . I haven't been quick enough to catch the intruder yet.

I want to get a catflap only Dcat can open, magnetic or microchip or what ever is best, but all the reviews I've read are mixed at best, can anyone recommend one? TIA

We got the SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap and it worked really well. Our cat was really stressed by another cat coming in but once she realised they couldn’t get in any more she calmed down and was much happier.

I'd recommend the SureFlap too. Works really well and means other cats can't get in.

Sureflap microchip here and 2 cats - it's been great. The first one was faulty in that it are batteries but just rang up quoted the serial number and they sent a replacement.

Shame it took me 12 months to get DH to believe me that there is a faulty batch out there!!!!

Another vote for Sureflap microchip cat flap. Really the only way we found to stop other cats popping in to eat DCats food.

We have a Sureflap too.

We have the Sureflap with hub which means you can track whose in or out. It means when I'm going to sleep and waiting for them to come in, my phone will alert "Tubby has entered" or gone out. The really handy thing is you can lock the door from your phone. I can even do it from work if say the weather is bad and I don't want them to go out. It is brilliant and well worth the money. I'm I could have said all that in a clearer way!
