Despite covering her ears in factor 50, my white cat looks to have sunburn. She is desperate to be outside as many hours of the day, and only really wants to be indoors to eat or sleep. Am I best to try and keep her indoors out of the sun altogether? Or is there something else I can do? Daft animal doesn’t want to lay in the shade, just directly in the sun Hmm

My white girl's the same! I'm restricting her outside time. She was out this morning with sun screen on, but she gets very indignant and washes it off. She's been in all afternoon. Having said that, she's a mostly an indoor cat, but likes to sit on the top floor balcony in the good weather.

Her left ear is really red and sore looking Sad she’s only been in an hour and she’s going nuts at me trying to get back outside

We used to use the coloured suncream sticks as it was less easy for him to get off.

Yes, mine had very pink ears for a few days & I was getting very concerned. Her colour's gone down now. It copyhold be the heat making it pink.

Thanks Toddler. Will try those.

Closer inspection, one ear looks like she’s scratched it until it’s bled. I wonder if it’s possible the suncream could have irritated her?

I’d definitely try to keep her indoors over the hottest parts of the day. We have a pure white cat - all of ours are house cats but we still don’t let her sunbathe when the sun is at its hottest . She has suncream on too. I’ve seen skin cancer on a white cat first hand so will do anything to avoid it.

I just use whatever suncream I’m using at the time Blush no reaction to Aldi’s cream, ultra sun or M&S own brand so far.
