Moving house

I'm planning quite a long distance house move - about a 4 hour drive. Any tips on how to move my 2 cats? Specifically transporting from one city to the other but also welcome tips on helping them to settle into the new house.

They're appx 7 year old males and been in my car in cat holders for no more than 10/15 mins on the way to vets. Neither has been travel sick in that time. They're not brothers and don't get on fantastically well. Both neutered and healthy.

TIA

Do you have actual cat transporters, the boxes that are larger than the smaller ones you take them to the vet in? I've done quite a lot of long distance travelling with mine and they tend to start out stressed but mostly settle down after a little while. Put the seatbelts around the boxes if you can, to keep them secure.

It's a bit of a trial when you move them to new surroindings, but all you can do is keep them inside for as long as possible, minimum 3 weeks. Confine them to 1 room for a week, if they're stressed. Get a Feliway plug in diffuser. They'll probably settle in really well. Good luck.
