Second cat now missing?

I moved house a couple of months ago and kept two of my cats in for 2 weeks as recommended but one of them has now been missing for 5 weeks. I learnt my lesson and kept the third cat in and after 7 weeks living here he finally went out on his own accord early this morning (he has been really nervous up to about a week ago). Unfortunately I am now 18 hours later wondering if a second cat has now gone missing as I've not seen him since I went to bed last night.

I've got dirty clothes on the line, emptied mulyiple hoover bags and litter trays in the garden over the past few weeks but I'm really worried that the same thing has happened again.

Really sorry. Also apologies if stating bleeding obvious re are both micro chipped, have you posted on local social media, contacted local vets and animals rescue centres?

HackedOffSeller · 29/04/2018 23:26

Both are microchipped and neutered. I'm already on social media/posters/vets lists for the first missing one but don't know if I have the strength to start it all again with the second one. Especially as the first one gping missing made me rather ill. I thought doing it so slowly would have cracked it for the second one. How can one cat get it and 2 others be so clueless?

How awful for you. I hope they both come back to you soon. Maybe your 2nd cat has just lost track of time, which often happens when they go out on their first trip.

I'm hoping that is the case with the second one. I was just coming to terms with the first one being gone permanently and I feel it's set me back a few weeks.

Thankfully second cat has strolled in and is now eating his own body weight in food. He should really know his territory now having been out 24 hours. First cat? Think that one's gone forever :(

Glad he's home.

My heart sinks a bit when I read posts on here about them going missing. Don't give up hope about the other one though, there are some amazing stories on here about them turning up weeks/months/years later.

Hope you can just focus on settling in.

Have you asked the people who are now at your old house to keep a look out? It's not impossible that DC1 has gone back there.

I have got my old neighbour keeping an eye out for him. I think he's gone fully feral in the countryside near my new house.

Try not to give up hope, OP. Our neighbour's cat turned up after about 3 months. Thinner, but she just strolled in as if nothing had happened.
