Cat Pooing Question

We've had our beautiful girlcat since late December. When she first arrived she used a litter tray indoors. After a few weeks I (stupidly?) put the litter tray on one of our flower beds in the back garden.

After another few weeks got rid of the litter tray and she began pooing straight onto the flower bed.

As the weather's been improving we've been outside and there is ALOT of poo and wee there. It stinks and is a health hazard for the DCs.

How do I get our cat to poo elsewhere in someone else's garden ??

Well it probably isn't very nice for her to use either if it hasn't been cleaned up!

Please don’t encourage her to poo in someone else’s garden, just clear up your own! Either that or get her litter tray back. Mine comes in from the garden for a wee and goes back out again! I don’t understand taking it away, what’s she supposed to do at night?

You just have to deal with it and remove the poos as they come.
I have a very old cat who has always pooed in my garden.
I don't enjoy cleaning it up, but it's part and parcel of having my cat, and at least I know my neighbours can't complain that he's doing it in their gardens.
Scooping it up daily and putting it in nappy sacks in your bin might be the way forward.
Yes, the wee reeks, so if you want to, go round with a watering can and wash it into the soil.
Theo it other choice is to get rid of the cat if you really can't deal with it🙁.

'The only'.
Fat fingers and typing whist tired - sorry!

I got a big plastic kennel and put 3 litter trays inside it, so I don’t have to deal with it in the house but they still have somewhere dry and private to go. Then I just empty the litter in the bin on collection day. Sometimes the cats don’t bother with the trays and just wee/poo straight on the decking which is gross. Going to need to disinfect it before summer or I won’t be able to use the garden!

It sounds really horrible. I would much rather have a litter tray inside than deal with pee and poo in the soil in my garden.

Would you consider having a litter tray in your house?

Having grown up with cats, they never pooed or weed in our garden......I think this cat is quite timid.
She rarely goes very far at all.

I think I might reintroduce the litter tray into the garden, then at least it's all in one place!
