Hi, i had posted a few days ago about the cat we are adopting.

We have been told by the shelter that he is currently eating a pouch of Felix in the morning and night and Purina is left out all day for him to graze on.

We have done some research and found out that they are not the best thing to be feeding our cat so have decided to start slowly switching him over to Porta 21 dry food and havent decided re wet food yet.

Does 2 pouches per day and unlimited dry food sound about right for a cat like him?

Thanks

I have a 5 year old male Maine Coon and he only eats dry food (unlimited) and maybe a bit of chicken, he's a really fussy eater though and wet food gives him and upset stomach (which is bad on a long haired cat :/ ) Royal Canin also gives him an upset stomach, he doesn't like a lot of dry foods (the odd time I've bought a really cheap one to tide him over before I could get to the pet shop and he loved though lol)

anyway sorry for the waffling, he's a healthy weight (and he's a really big maine coon) with just the unlimited dry and some chicken (and a few dreamies)

My 4 year old Maine Coon has 2 pouches of Felix per day and unlimited dry (sanabelle sensitive or grain free). This is what the previous owner was giving her and we don’t want to start messing about with it unless she gets an upset tummy. We tend to give the wet food in half portions so it doesn’t dry out.

They do seem to have really sensitive stomachs

Thanks for replies - have spoken with a few others and it seems that everyone has different advice.

Guess we will just need to see what he wants once he has arrived 😁
