Injured stray - what best to do?

Hi everyone

There has been an injured cat sporadically visiting my garden over the last few weeks ( and other gardens in the street). His back leg looks like it is injured as he is limping badly, plus in poor condition. Various emails have gone round the neighbourhood but no one claimed him.

Am wondering what is the best thing to do? He doesn’t come at a regular time ( and I work). Suspect various people may be feeding him ( there is one of the neighbours who is a cat collector).

Does anyone have any advice? He seems relatively tame - miaows at me from the fence and doesn’t startle when you get near. I don’t have a carrier though and not sure he is friendly enough to catch ( plus I don’t drive and am on my own with young kids so would be difficult to get him anywhere anyway!).

You can contact a local cat charity and ask for their help. Although the more you can help them to help the cat, the better - i.e. if someone could start feeding him in a specific location, he could then be caught using an automated cat trap.

Yes I’d do that, poor cat.

I agree with what viccat says. Are you by any chance in London?

@thecatneuterer I have sent you a PM

Have you contacted your local cats protection? They will either trap the cat and take it in to be treated and rehomed or loan you a trap. They are very easy to use.
