My 13 year old male neutered cat is poorly, he cant support himself, just falls over, can not walk very well. I first noticed a problem last week, his coat looked rough and then greasy not cleaning himself, back legs did not look right. Booked in at vets on the monday, teeth not good, needs a clean up, thoroughly checked limbs, has sensation, pulled back when toes pinched, however severe muscle loss, took a blood test, advised result on wednesday. Rang on the wednesday, blood test good for his age, no real red flags. Advised to keep in and see if he had diarrhoea. Legs still no better. Got another appointment on the friday, different vet, felt his limbs again, just the loss of muscle. Given anti inflammatory injection and pain relief, asked if will do dental, says too week, take this weekend to try to feed him up more, although he is not underweight. Since 11 am friday and 1pm today has not toileted at all, I have carried him out several times. He is eating, ate three times today. Anyway rang vet concerned he has not been to the loo, advised to leave him another 24 hours as may just be protesting against the litter tray. Seems a very long time to me. Anyone had anything like this happen to their cat. I don't know what the next step is.

I’m so sorry he’s having these problems. I think maybe a good sign he’s eating. I hope he’s back to 100% soon.

You're doing so much to help him. All you can really do is be guided by your vet. I hope he has a better day today Flowers
