Does it mean anything when they bite you?

I dont mean attack. Lots of purring. It starts with licking my arm then its gentle bites. I move my arm away and it starts again. Shes doing it more recently,

It means you’re hers and she likes you

One of mine bites when over stimulated. Too much stroking flips the bitey switch!

Thats diddicult though when shes in my face begging me to change the food ive put out. I kid myself she just wants me so i stroke her to keep her still. She obviously just wants the food!

Biting is a sign of affection with cats. Some dogs do this too. My German Shepherd will hold my hand with his mouth and walk to the door if he needs to go outside. Or he will nip and my sleeves. lol

My old boy does the gentle bite - more a moving my hand away with his teeth than a bite - it's his way of saying 'I love you but I've had enough of this now'.

I was going to post a similar question. Dcat bites several times a week and I think it’s because he wants attention or food, eg rubbing his face against dd’s toes and then suddenly biting her on the foot, following me into the bathroom first thing in a morning and rubbing himself against me and purring then suddenly nipping me on the thigh, sitting on top of my chest in bed having a fuss then biting my nose. He knows he has been naughty as he then dashes off.
Can it be stopped? Or it it just cat contrariness?

Ps he is very good natured, and has only properly bitten as in drawn blood once when he was a kitten and got caught in the blinds, dangling by a back leg so he was forgiven!

Cats and their love bites! It really does mean they love you. They lick a spot clean and then have a little nibble.

Truly horrific bacteria in all cats' mouths. Don't forget to wash hands well and do take it v seriously if the skin is ever broken.

I think it's when they see you as parental and get all over excited.

Mine really horrified me when she did it after a couple of years having her, she was suddenly appearing to commit GBH and I thought she was trying to eat me. I was quite frightened!!

As long as they don't break skin they're just being affectionate in their own little cat way. Someone said on here once that they're over-stimulated when they start doing that.

Ernie nibbles me, sometime bunny kicks as well. His claws are rarely out and the 'bites' are just mouthing
