Is there a flea treatment available in oral form?

Hi everyone!

I popped into the vets recently to buy some flea and worming treatments for my two young rescue cats. They gave me Drontal worming tablets (one to be taken every three months) plus a monthly spot-on Advantage treatment for fleas.

I was wondering - is it possible to buy flea treatment in oral form? The reason I ask is that one of my cats in particular is very timid, and while I can stroke her briefly (usually around mealtimes!) getting close enough to part her hair and squeeze on the drops is very tricky.

On the other hand, the worming tablets were much easier to administer - I wrapped them in some Easy Pill putty from the vet and both cats happily ate them straightaway!

There is also the programme injection that lasts 6 months. My two have milbemax wormer. The tablets are smaller than drontal and taste better.
