Do you have the Katzecure system?

I'm looking into cat proofing our garden, I don't want the maximum security prison look so the poles are perfect.

If you have this system can you give me an idea of how much it cost and the size of your garden please and if it's worked well for you.

I know it's not cheap I'm trying to get a ballpark figure so I don't faint if I ask them to quote me!

I’m getting one! Hopefully installing in April. They are so helpful. They were running a promo so ours (but we have a teeny garden) is costing just over 1k. They are installing for us though which is a big chunk. If you’re handy I’m sure you can do it more cost effectively. BUT send them a photo and rough measurements and they’ll give you a cost really quickly

How tiny is tiny Betty? Ours is an odd shape but widest part is about 39ft by 32ft dreading the quote and no I'm not handy at all!!

Isn’t there a risk of the cat falling backwards with this? I can just imagine the vets bills Harry would rack up with this!

When I looked into it, I read some reviews that said other cats could get in and got stuck with no way to then get out - less of a chance of that with the other types of cat proofing options. And they really don't look like prisons, I've seen lots of photos of different gardens and most of the time it really blends in well.

Any suggestions vic of ones that don't look like prisons that blend in nicely?

Have you looked at the Protect a Pet website?

Sanctuary SOS is similar to ProtectaPet but cheaper.

We’ve done similar in our garden, although it is more obvious as we don’t have anything growing up the fence (thankfully). DH did ours for a couple of hundred quid.

We’re looking into this too - I also don’t like the extended rods, and as were not yet in our new house I’m a bit nervous what the neighbours would make of it being attached to their fence

kat secure quoted us £2500 for a 10m Square garden

Ours is an odd shape widest part is 15m narrowest 10m I really don't like the netting stuff.

Katzecure seems to be the only company that does the roller system

I’d rather have the netting than risk other cats getting into the garden and getting trapped or my own cat falling and injuring himself.

MissClarke86, DH did some work for someone who couldn’t attach the brackets to a neighbours fence and she had them on thin posts in the garden. They were hidden by plants and so weren’t noticeable.

I had it in my previous house and did not hesitate installing it in the new one. It is expensive but worth it for the peace of mind. Send them pictures of your garden and they will do you a quote. Ours was £3000 with installation. If you are handy and install it yourself, you'll save a load of money.

Hamsterian, did you have problems with other cats getting stuck in?

I wouldn't. I'd be too worried about something getting caught in the mechanism.
