My 14 year old cat, Eric, has just been diagnosed with diabetes. I’m going to the vets tomorrow to learn how to give injection, which I am a bit worried about. I would appreciate any advice about feeding.

Our old girl was diabetic and it was actually easier to manage than I expected. I don't have much advice on feeding as she also had IBD so was on a hypoallergenic diet.
Our vet gave us a prescription to buy insulin online which saved a fortune but the vet may want to see how you manage it before doing that.
We bought a glucometer so I could do glucose curves at home (useful for future perhaps) and had some cheap honey in case of hypos (I think that happened about 3 times).
Hopefully your boy is easy to stabilise but I found having a good relationship with the vet helped manage it.

Thanks Vino. That’s good to know.
