A Cat has moved In

I live in a block of flats and we are not allowed cats, even though I have one and she stays indoors all the time. At the moment my cat is being looked after by someone else because I was away. I came back last night and there was a cat trapped in our staircase. As soon as I came into my flat, he followed me. He is very friendly, has eaten my cats food, and he is currently sitting on the sofa. I need to find his owners. He is clearly a domestic cat and somebody must be missing him. However there is a lot of snow outside and I feel I should not kick him out until somebody claims him.Does anybody know if I can take him to the vet to have the microchip read? Are you really don't know how to find his owners otherwise

Yes you can do that. Or the vet will post a notice in their office if it's not chipped. You could post on local facebook groups too.

Yes any vet should scan for a chip for free.

Cat and owner are now reunited thanks to Facebook!

Gosh that was quick - happy ending :)

He must have known he could put his paws in your hands.

That was quick! Was he far from home?

He had walked almost 2 miles
