I posted ages ago and was advised that prob spring is best time to get a kitten. So I've been getting place ready. Just need to get cat litter and food.

Anyway a friends cat had a litter of 3 and I fell in love with this kitten that was mainly white bit with black splotches. Anyway she majorly let me down and gave the kitten to someone else.

I know it's not the end of the world. I just wondered is that a common pattern for a cat as if love to get a kitten looming similar to that one?

I’d talk to you local cat shelter, they’ll let you know. Black kittens are best as they are harder to home...

Please get one from a rescue, buying kittens from home breeders only encourages them to breed more (not suggesting your friend is like this particularly). There's a massive problem with too many cats being born each year, so please try to encourage your friend to get her girl spayed before she gets pregnant again.

I'd get one from a rescue, for £60 they'll be vaccinated & neutered. The neutering alone is worth £60. It was £50 to castrate ours 8 years ago.

What the hell is your friend doing letting her female cat breed, would she have the funds for an emergency op if she gets pyometra?.

Your friend is an irresponsible twat. There is no need to ever let a cat have kittens when there is such an oversupply of kittens. Kitten season is just starting and in a month or so rescues will be bursting at the seams with them. Don't buy one and so encourage people to keep bringing more into the world. Get one from a rescue. And the ones from the rescue will come ready vaccinated, chipped and neutered if old enough and the rescue can advise on all aspects of their care.

I hope your friend's cat is now going to be spayed.

The CP centre I volunteer at has a mum and kittens currently in foster cat-those kittens are nearly 2 weeks old so give it a couple of months and there will be kittens aplenty though they are homed quickly.

White with black splodges isn't particularly unusual, but black with white tummy, chest and paws is probably more common.
Black or black and white are hardest to home, so picking one of those at a shelter is a good thing.
Bit don't go into it with a closed mind, all kittens are lovely and you will find it difficult to pick just two!
And yes, your friend should spay her cat.
