Our old cat

Just wondered if anyone had any advice. Our cat is now very old and has taken to pooing and peeing in the garage. I'm disinfecting the concrete floor every day but it still smells like a urinal. We believe she has lost quite a lot of vision recently but is eating well and sleeping a lot.
We'd like to keep her going for as long as she is eating/walking/and enjoying a reasonable life. Any remedies for the weeingpooing would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a litter tray in the garage, place one on top of a piece of cardboard, you could get one with a lid. How does kitty get into the garage. If the smell is,strong it might be a urine infection, that could make her feel sleepy too. I would get her checked over by a vet. Where did she pee and poo before, a lot of,people here recommend cleaning with pet special zoflora which they say gets rid of smells.

If she's going to the same area, you could try putting puppy pads down so its at least containing it? Also, with disinfectant I once read its best to avoid lemon smelling ones as a cat can mistake that smell for another cats wee and encourages to them to mark the same patch.

I think using disinfectants (especially if ammonia-based) can make it more likely that the cat will go back to the same spot. Also some disinfectants are toxic to cats (Dettol etc). If it's a concrete floor the smells may be soaking in & quite difficult to remove?
A solution of biological washing powder can help to get rid of the urine smell, spraying with diluted white vinegar also helps.
You could try a lower-sided litter tray, if she is older & with poor eyesight she may be having difficulty getting in and out of the current one. And puppy training pads around and under the tray are really good for quick cleanups of accidents.

I'd use soapy warm water to clean the area. Put a litter tray down for her, as she must prefer doing her toilet in that paticular spot. Do you take her regularly to the vet? She might need a medical to check her health.
