Baby & Kitten - Advice

We're about to get a kitten, a boy if that makes any difference. Both DP and I have owned cats before and it'll be our only pet. I'm on mat leave so plenty of time to help it settle in but we have a 4 month old and wanted any advice on how the introduction could go smoothly or general tips!

Keep them apart as much as possible, kittens like to play lots and won’t know to not jump on/bite/scratch a baby!

Would probably be easier if you got two while you have a young baby, they entertain each other rather than using you as prey practice!

I can't agree more, two kittens are a lot easier than one and keep them away from the baby. Keep in mind cats often like to sleep with the baby in the cot/buggy which can be s suffocation danger.

Back at in the sixties when I was a baby our cat loved to get in either with me or when I had just been taken out but left a warm spot.

Personally though I do think a kitten and a 4 month old is a totally bonkers idea, but I’m sure you’ll find that out soon enough!
