Help! Cat wee on my memory foam mattress!

Ivy cat had a major op for a hernia on Wednesday. She came home yesterday and seems fine in herself.

Doesn't seem to be in pain but she got upstairs and has done the biggest wee ever on my bed.

It's soaked through a 15 tog duvet, mattress protector and the mattress. It's a very dark yellow stain and absolutely stinks.

Firstly is this normal colour urine after an op, as I'm more bothered that she's ok.

Secondly how do I get the stain/smell out. Duvet is in the bin, duvet cover/protector washed and stain has come out.

It's literally soaked and I've scrubbed it with bio washing liquid and anti bacterial spray.

Any tips on how to get rid of the stain and smell as I can't afford a new mattress and this is fairly new!

I've got accidental damage in house insurance, but would they cover this?

Simple Solution from Pets at Home is worth a try. And for getting rid of cat urine smells that MN favourite Zoflora takes some beating.

I've had to pay a specialist cleaner to come and clean it today. Cost £30 which was well worth it as it's spotless and the smell has completely gone.

Thanks though.
