Cats and a full moon?

Does anyone else have cats that seem to go a bit bananas when the moon is full / almost full?

Our Boy Cat has been a bit loopy of the last few Evenings and nights, lots of bouts of frantic running up and down stairs, pouncing on invisible things and genuinely being a lot more active. He's done this a few times but it's the first time I've linked it with the moon.

Anyone? Or do I just have a bored hunter? Grin

Yes, mine are a bit frisky at the moment. I hadn't associated it with the moon, I just thought it was the change in the weather - no rain, sun and a bit of blue sky. Makes you wonder...

Yep, can almost guarantee mine will be more active for a couple of days before & after the full moon. I fully expect to get jumped on in bed at some insane hour (about 2am at a guess) because they are charging about being mad fools again tonight - they did this last night.

Yes, it's where the word 'lunacy' comes from.

My cats are extra loud and zoomie when it's a full moon.

Also I work with dementia patients and whilst I love them dearly they're a tad more 'challenging' on a full moon.

Our more chilled out car is currently going berserk chasing non existent things around the floor and charging under people's feet.

M is in a very strange mood this evening. Twitchy, easily distracted, zooming around chasing non-existent prey.

Mines been very silly. This explains it, thanks!

Wow- my dd and I have been saying for the last few days how our usually very lazy tomcat has been acting weird, jumping at things, chasing us etc.

Obviously this is why!
