Getting a cat flap fitted

I am new to having pets but we got two kittens at the end of October. They are being micro chipped in February and we are then allowed to let them out.

We need to get a cat flap and we definitely need someone to do it for us - neither of us have the practical skills!

We live in a new build house, so the door it will go in is a metal one with, I think, two layers of metal and maybe stuff in the middle.

This may sound silly but I'm not sure who to ask to do this - builder, glazing, someone else. Any advice please?

There are some companies that specialise in cat flaps. Google should help. The Litter Tray occasionally gets spammed by a company offering that service so even an advance search on here for 'cat flaps' should throw that up.

I don't even know what a metal door is so I can't really advise on that specifically. Whoever made the door in the first place probably. Although if it is just a case of cutting a hole then any builder should be able to do it.

Remember you don't necessarily need to put them in doors. It's often easier to fit them into walls.
