Cat getting a bit creaky

My older cat (12-ish) is finding it a bit harder to get upstairs these days - seems to be dragging one leg slightly. She's absolutely fine on the flat, can get up onto my bed ok and still nips in and out of the catflap. I'm reluctant to take her to the vet as she gets scared and extremely aggressive so I'm not quite sure how they'd even examine her. I thought it might be arthritis so have tried a food supplement (Easeflex for cats) but she kept avoiding the bits of wet catfood that it was in, and also a cat treat for stiff joints, but she wouldn't take them. Has anyone found a solution in a similar situation?

She probably needs a pain killer if she has arthritis. You'll need to take her to the vet, I'm afraid. She probably needs a check up to see if there's something else going on as well. My cat has loxicom for her arthritis and it really helps with her aches and pains. She loves the taste of it, so takes it straight from the pippet.

You could try seaquin, my of girl used to eat them like treats and she was normally a nightmare with medication.
A vet visit is probably on the cards though, just to confirm it's not something other than old age

You need to take her to the vet. Try wrapping her in a large bath towel and then easing her into the carrier. Thats what I used to do with my old female cat who used to go ballistic at seeing the carrier.
They will be able to examine her o.k as they have got gauntlets and can partially sedate her if needed.
