Fire service just rescued cat from car

RSPCA has just dropped my cat home after being stuck in someone's car, behind the engine. The fire brigade had to take parts out to free him. We're relieved to have him home & he's fine (oily & now wet after a wash)

How can I thank the fire service?
I'm already making a donation to rspca & will drop up a gift to the people whose car he was in. Just not sure some cakes, chocolates are the right thing for the fire team. Any suggestions?

That's lovely. Beer and chocolate? Or.........Home made cat calender for the fire station? Or you cat's first born? Or name your next cat after the fire officer in charge of the rescue.....

Els1e · 20/01/2018 23:03

I think a tin of biscuits that they can have at tea break would be good. Glad to hear your boy is okay

ragged · 20/01/2018 23:17

cAkes & chocolate are great idea.

ObiJuanKenobi · 20/01/2018 23:23

I would have a life size cat cake made but that's just me Grin a tin of biscuits with a cat on would be a nice gesture.

Glad your kitty is home safe.

Bubblesblue · 20/01/2018 23:30

Is he always this troublesome?? I'm glad someone noticed where he was and he's been rescued safely. It's lovely of you to be thinking of ways to say thanks to all involved- I imagine a box of biscuits or a cake would go down a treat for the fire brigade

Want2beme · 20/01/2018 23:39

What a shock. Is he ok now? Will the fire service charge you for doing this? If not, do they have a charity you could donate to?

YetAnotherSpartacus · 20/01/2018 23:42

Include a card signed by the cat :). Naughty boy! Does he have form for such behaviour? :).

And can we have a photo?

EnormousBlisterPack · 20/01/2018 23:47

Loving the replies Grin
He's normally very well behaved apart from a 4 week wander last year. Think this was the beginnings of another as he was 4 miles away.
Not sure I can come up with a cat shaped cake at short notice, & my skills are hugely lacking. Think I'll do a card from naughty boy with some cakes & biscuits to go round.
He really did cause a lot of hassle for a few people.
This is the naughty rascal pre Bath, hard to see level of grease, & post bath with a good feed for a treat

A photo upload card of him?

WhoWants2Know · 21/01/2018 06:38

I'm glad he's back, and didn't get hurt hiding where he did. Was the car ok?

SnugglySnerd · 21/01/2018 06:44

There is a firefighters charity I think. Maybe you could donate to that too. Otherwise cakes would be well received I'm sure.

SpecialTiara · 21/01/2018 06:52

LolitaLempicka · 21/01/2018 07:03

Oh you have a dickhead cat? Yes I have one of those too. I think the charity sounds good, the RSPCA and a firefighters charity.

Fadingmemory · 21/01/2018 07:07

Cake and/or bics ideal. A card with a pic of the cat and a speech bubble saying, "Thank you," perhaps. Message from you inside. Also a donation to the firefighters' charity? Hope His Catness has no ill effects!

Want2beme · 21/01/2018 09:00

He doesn't care one jot, does heHmm

EnormousBlisterPack · 21/01/2018 09:30

Lol no he doesnt give a toss!

Ok so love idea of the card with speach bubble so will do that with some treats. Think with car owners gift & rspca donation I'll be a few quid out of pocket.

Here is himself this morning looking much cleaner but still a little grubby

And maybe a little confused, but not contrite.

Has he been grounded?

EnormousBlisterPack · 21/01/2018 09:53

Most definitely grounded. Also needs to provide lots of cuddles in compensation

What a nightmare. Did the car survive as well as the cat?!

EnormousBlisterPack · 21/01/2018 15:15

Yes thankfully! Spoke with the lady this morning & when I dropped off gift they'd gone out in the car so phew!

OP posts:
ThomasRichard · 21/01/2018 15:21

How did they notice he was in there?!

EnormousBlisterPack · 21/01/2018 15:48

She told me they'd driven 4 miles home & heard him meowing frantically when they stopped Shock
Definitely one life down after that!
