cat food recommendations

Hi, our 10month old kitten keeps having bouts of diarrohea. We have had him to the vets a few times, and have now sent a stool sample off; awaiting results. It seems to clear up following the gastro paste worming stuff, and has also been given some royal canin gastrointestinal cat food. So I'm not sure what is helping and what isn't. Wondering if he is just sensitive and not tolerating run of the mill cat food (felix/whiskars). However, have just googled the royal canin and its so expensive! I don't mind paying if its going to help, but just wondered if anyone had any cheaper recommendations that might do the trick. Thanks.

I always fed my cats Applaws. Burns is good too, but the thing is, you get what you pay for. Cheap stuff is usually filled with too much water and carbs, which cats have a hard time processing in excess.

The higher quality foods tend to be denser and grain-free so your cat eats a lot less, so they don't work out as expensive as you'd think. Zooplos is a good source of quality food and always has offers.
