Good news at last!

We took Harry to see his own vet this morning as his leg was still stiff after his Christmas Eve escapade. The vet did a blood test to see how his kidneys are doing before she decided what medication to give him and all his levels are back in the normal range! I nearly cried when she told us, after a really crap year it was great to get some good news!

Oh that's fantastic :)

Toddlerteaplease · 27/12/2017 15:31

Woohoo!!

TheSecondOfHerName · 27/12/2017 16:11

That's great; well done Harry!

Weedsnseeds1 · 27/12/2017 17:33

Great news! Does that mean he'll be off the meds?

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 27/12/2017 17:48

No, he's got to stay on the ipakitine permanently. It's not a problem as he eats his food with it in despite the vet telling me he wouldn't as it's not as palatable as other meds!

Brilliant news!

Want2beme · 28/12/2017 17:17

Excellent newsGrin

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 28/12/2017 22:09

Well it was good news until the little sod stopped eating his wet food and therefore isn’t getting his Ipakitine! I know why, he’s having his Loxicom in Hills a/d which is so much better than a pouch!

Harry! Naughty boy! Anyone would think the little buggers do it all on purpose ... :)

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 29/12/2017 13:02

We’ve been back to the vet today as he still wasn’t eating and was sick this morning. Anyone would think he liked the vets! He’s had an anti sickness injection so fingers crossed we make it over the bank holiday without any drama!

Harry stop being a drama llama. Could it be the loxicom making him sick. Maia was really sick on it after a few days. Similar to us taking ibuprofen on a prolonged empty stomach. Reduced the dose and she was fine.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 29/12/2017 14:35

He’s not limping now so the vet told us to stop the loxicom completely. He was already on a dose for a cat half his size so it probably wasn’t doing much anyway! He does seem to have perked up a bit, although he hasn’t eaten much. At least he’s had another clean bill of health though!

I don’t know what he’s trying to do to me (other than bankrupt me) but he’s been off colour all day. He’s not eaten a proper meal since Tuesday night yet he’s had three clean bills of health from the vets! He’s eaten a few biscuits today and some Hills a/d and we ended up putting some loxicom in the a/d in case his shoulder was playing him up.

I’ve been out and bought some James Wellbeloved turkey in sauce pouches, some turkey biscuits, Whiskas cat milk (yes I really am desperate!) and some M&S tuna in spring water to try and tempt him. I also bought him a nice shallow dish to eat from and the little bugger would only eat the a/d out of his normal bowl...

So how is he? Fingers crossed he's feeling better.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 31/12/2017 20:52

He’s still a bit subdued and he’s got a dodgy stomach but he seems to be getting back to normal. We’ve stopped the loxicom and hopefully he’s on on the mend. I think he’s a bit worried he’s going to be shoved in his box and taken to the vet - the poor lad has had his temperature taken twice in a week!

I’ve also upset him as I’ve got a hacking cough so it’s all my fault in his mind!

Poor Harry. I wonder if he did just have an upset tummy from the loxicom. Get well soon Harry, no more thermometers up the bum and thinning of Mum's purse.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 01/01/2018 15:01

I was woken up this morning by the sound of him skidding around the living room on the laminate! It doesn’t sound as though the last week has taught him anything and he’s still a big kitten at heart. I’m glad as I love him just the way he is!

He’s still not eating all his wet food but as soon a biscuits go down he’s shoving his head straight in the bowl! I think he could be playing me...
