Gunky eye

Poor Colin has a bit of a gunky eye, he’s black so I can’t see whether it’s red at all. I have been one-wiping it with cooled boiled water on cotton wool quite regularly. Does it sound like conjunctivitis? I’ll take him to the vet if it looks like it’s getting worse or no improvement. Have any of your cats had this? He doesn’t seem too miserable about it. Am hoping cleaning and wiping it may clear it up.Am I deluded??! I’ll be so annoyed if I end up at the vets with a £60 bill just before bloody Xmas!

Vets. Eyes are wet & soft so infection easily spreads.

Hmm his eye seems much better. Though he does seem a bit under the weather and hasn’t eaten as much as he normally would. I’ll see how he is in the morning I think and maybe take him down the vets tomorrow

Well the update is his eye started to look better then last night I stroked his head and came across something squidgy, smelly and bloody. Vets today- scratch on his eye and a big pus filled abscess from a fight. Bleugh
