My cats have fell out!

I'm after some advice and reassurance about my 2 boy cats. They are just over 2 and a half years old.

They are both rescue cats, the second one was got specifically to keep the first one company after his litter brother disappeared almost 2 years ago.

Up until 2 or 3 days ago, they were best friends, they are very different personalities but are normally lovely together. The original boy has always looked after his very timid adopted brother.

Something has happened though, every time my timid boy goes near his brother, he walks away. My bolshy boy just won't accept his brother near him.

Nothing has changed in the house or garden, everything is the same as normal.

We have a feliway diffuser plugged in already for another of our cats. What can I do to assist the resumption of normal service? My timid boy is very confused as to why his brother is ignoring him 😟

I’m curious is he just walking away or is he acting hostile too? Hissing or aggressive at all? How are each of the cats with you? Any change in either of their behaviours?

He is just walking away, it's like he is exasperated with him. No hissing or growling, he just gets up and takes himself off somewhere else.

They are both absolutely normal with me, loving and curious about what I'm doing. Both eating well and completely normal in themselves. Timid boy is a bit more shouty than normal but I think he is trying to get his brothers attention.

Bolshy boy was chasing my girl cat around earlier but he often does that. She doesn't tolerate his nonsense and removed herself from the situation!

I'm a bit concerned, this is incredibly unusual behaviour for them.
