My cat died tonight :(

Came home from a day trip to find our (previously thought to be perfectly healthy) 13 month old cat dead in the garden.

Had clearly only died a few minutes before as he was still warm

He can't get out of our back garden so we know it wasn't anti-freeze

We also have his litter mate who was very close to him and hasn't quite figured it out yet.

DH is now driving in ice and snow to take him to the vet for a post mortem in case there is something we need to know about for his brother.

Gutted 😢😢😢

DH is back from the vet who has said it's more than likely a congenital heart defect, there was nothing we could have done and he probably wasn't in pain which is the main thing

Rather than do a post mortem, she has suggested we get his litter mate scanned to check for heart problems, so will do that soon.

Reggie is the tabby and white. Ronnie, the one we lost tonight is the black and white.

So sorry to read this, hope all is well with Reggie.

I'm sorry for your loss OP, we lost our 9 month old kitten in September, we were so worried for his brother but he's a stoic old soul and seems to be ok. We still have some sad days, we talk about him a lot which helps but he was the first cat I'd lost and I was blindsided by the amount it hurt. Your boys made a beautiful pair.

So sorry for your loss. Why not speak to an animal communicator to say goodbye to Ronnie and reassure him about being dead? It really helps to know he's OK. Hope your other cat is all right. xx
