Cats and snow

What do your cats make of the snow? PuffinCat doesn't understand it all! She's refusing to go out and has gone all quiet, which is most unlike her. Pic of moping kitty attached.

@SokokeCat, hes beautiful....

FluffyWuffy100 · 11/12/2017 15:09

Mine put his head out of the cat flap, and beat a hasty shuffling retreat back inside.

His face said "fuck. that."

ragged · 11/12/2017 17:05

My moggies love the snow, bouncy around.

cozietoesie · 11/12/2017 17:12

Newboy doesn't know what it is. He's spent the afternoon in his LWT, which may have ended up just a tad too hot for him as his room temperature started rising (sunshine) to tropical levels. (For him.) I even saw a couple of cinnamon legs stuck out of the front of the tipi, earlier.

A teeny bit of fun to be had in the garden today

Unfortunately we had a few very light flurries that didn't stick. So my CoCo never even noticed. He spent his days the same as usual, curled up on the floor, snoozing outside ds, who is 2's bedroom door. Ds was at my in laws this weekend, so he wasn't even here. Dcat loves to sleep outside his door..

Ollivander84 · 11/12/2017 23:42

I don't know, I bought him a bed that's a hooded igloo and he's been in there for about 10 days. His face says he will come out when the "stupid hooman turns the sun back UP NOW please"

halloweenzombie · 11/12/2017 23:48

@DavetheCat2001 I also have a Rosie and she is very vocal in moaning to me about the snow! She went out for about 5 minutes as it was coming down (not settling) and now keeps looking towards the door and chatting away to me!!! Anyone would think I made it snow!

Blinkingblimey · 11/12/2017 23:52

Urgh, my lovely boy (under a year) was terrified to start with then got a bit of confidence today....culminating in him bringing in a robin😖😔...he's been frustrated at not getting out and it was prob the first thing in his path (he's only ever done rodents before).

sashh · 12/12/2017 06:03

I a being the most unreasonable human slave ever. Her Mistyness wants to sit inside where it is warm for her bum but with her nose outside the window.

I will not allow her to have an open window.

Vitalogy · 12/12/2017 06:14

Our cat has made me open the door twice already this morning, sniffs the air, then turns around to come back in.
The first day it snowed he went out, trying to avoid wet ground, thinking snow was solid so went another way, only to find he ended up tummy deep.

Vitalogy · 12/12/2017 06:17

sashh our cats the same, expects you to leave the door open so he can sit in the semi warm and watch it.

CherryVicky29 · 12/12/2017 06:34

My poor Cat hated it (first time in snow as a house cat)

@halloweenzombie good choice in kitty name! Wink

@CherryVicky29 I love that pic! Poor puss!

I've hoofed Rosie out this morning for a wee, and will let her back in when I get back from the school run and she will no doubt spend the rest of the day snoozing on our bed!

Balearica · 12/12/2017 08:24

Mine have become indoor cats. One of my two cats made me open the door for her several times so she could check if there was still snow then each time went back upstairs - she normally chooses to be outside all day and comes in at night.

The other cat looked out the window saw snow and decided he would stay in until May - he hates the cold. He is currently looking out of the the window chattering at the birds.

Bingeslayer · 12/12/2017 08:30

My boy loves it,can't keep him in,was up super late last night waiting for him to come in.

scaryteacher · 12/12/2017 11:15

My older boy sniffed the air then went to his fleece on the sofa. My younger boy went out, then came in 30 seconds later wet both top and bottom (we have intermittent snow here in Flanders), and made for the fleece blanket on my bed to dry out and snooze. I don't expect an appearance will be put in until he has recovered from the trauma, or I put some more chicken down for them. I have to roast two birds, one for humans and one for cats.
