cherrycola2004 · 09/12/2017 16:58

I think sometimes it better to wait until the kitten is in your house :)

Mummyoftwo91 · 09/12/2017 17:54

Cherrycola good idea might have to do that! Won't see her in person till I collect her maybe a name will stick then! Has anyone got any tips for kittens? I had cats when I was younger but I was too young to remember the kitten stage

DS says Lavender

Mummyoftwo91 · 09/12/2017 18:29

Lavender would be cute especially as I have a dd named violet!

Wispa - she looks like bubbly chocolate.

shhhfastasleep · 09/12/2017 18:38

We made a little mini Home for our kitten in dd's room using a dog cage with a bed, playstuff , hidey place, food area, Water area and litter box. Door left open so she could come and go but only in dd's room. I'm used to anxious cats and kittens. But Our beauty was confident very quickly and explored the rest of the house within a couple of days.
Always have Water away from food.
Plenty of scratch posts dotted about.
She's lovely.

Mummyoftwo91 · 09/12/2017 19:52

Good idea! Not to sound stupid but what are kittens like with stairs? I live in a 3 story so am I better to keep her downstairs to start with?

Kittens are comical with stairs to start off. Do you have carpeted stairs? That's easier for them to manage. Once they get the knack, they fly up and down.

Mummyoftwo91 · 09/12/2017 20:14

Yes all carpet!

Dd is upstairs and we put the kitten in with her so she (the kitten) wouldn't be lonely at night. I took leave from work to help with settling in. Kitten is now nearly 3 year old cat and currently snoozing happily on a cat barrel.
Google/YouTube Jackson Galaxy (a US cat behaviourist) for tips

Settled on bambi! Dd suggestion!

TheSecondOfHerName · 11/12/2017 15:14

Is she coming home next week OP?
Don't forget to come back and share some photos.

Mummyoftwo91 · 11/12/2017 15:32

She is ready as of the 20th but we are collecting her on the 22nd as she's a fair bit away and I don't drive so a kind friend is taking me to collect her, I ordered all the things she will need off amazon and that came today. I am so excited! I will share pictures once she arrives!
