Help, cat has oozy eye

One of my cat’s eyes has a bit of green discharge. I have been wiping it off with a tissue dampened in saline. It is day 2 today. Should I continue with this or do you think I ought to make a vet appointment oh wise feline lovers?

I'd call the vet and ask their advice. Mine are good and won't call you in if they don'tneed to just so they can get their fee. Poor moggy
