Do cats feel the cold much? We don’t have the heating on during the day as we’re at work but it does get very cold.
Should I be leaving a little heater on for Dcat? He’s a bit of a softie.

Mine dont seem to and go outside when its baltic. I suppose that's why they have fur

I would also say, that's why they have fur. If you're bothered by it you can get heated pads and the suchlike

I go by the rule that if their ears and paws are cold, they are cold. An enclosed pet bed is a good way to keep them warm.

I worried mine was cold and bought a cat igloo off eBay. Can't link but if you type in me & my igloo large, it will come up

Anyway my cat hasn't moved out of it since the day I got it. I draped a small blanket with his name on over it to enclose it a bit more

I put my heated blanket on low for them and they sleep on my bed as soon as they hear it click on

I go by the cold ears theory as well. I bought mine a snuggle bag, but she won't go near it, just like the tower with hidey holes in it, I recently bought for her! I think I'll give the igloo a go. My other cat gets covered up with her blanket during the day, as I work from home, so I can keep an eye her.

Mine spend most of the day outside so I wouldn’t worry about one in the house! They are pretty hardcore though - mostly descended from farm cats.

I leave the heating on for my two if it's very cold. But they've got such thick coats I don't think they are bothered. My friends cat spends hours out In the freezing cold and refuses to come in. So they must be well insulated!

Mine have five beds between them and they do all get used.

We’re away and I’m keeping an eye on the temperature with the Nest app. I’ve already had to turn it up once in case Harry gets cold!

Mine has a covered dog bed with a hot water bottle under the pad & a fleece draped over the entrance. He loves it.

Mine being loving (most of the time) siblings, they curl up together on my bed. If i plunge a hand in between them it's toasty warm They have an igloo they fought over last year, but it doesn't seem to be back in favour yet this winter.

It’s a thermostat tha can controlled by an app Each. It’s similar to the British Gas Hive but we went for this one as we also bought the combined smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector which links to the boiler and shuts it off if CO2 is detected.

I actually thought you had a bed you could control the heating of whilst you were out! Not that we would be so soft....

If that are fit and healthy, it shouldn't be an issue. Unless you have a very short hair / hatless breed.
Mine just puts himself to bed ( under my duvet), but he's not cold, just passing time until his object of obsession ( me) comes home.

I wish I could get him one of those Each. I thought about getting him a radiator bed but DH pointed out I’d probably have to lift him on and off!

They certainly like warmth and always seek it out, even though they can survive cold much better than we can. A heated bed/heat pad would be good for your situation.

Maybe I’ll leave the electric blanket on for him if it’s cold. He does like to sleep on my bed. He might like an igloo too, or he might object to it like he did his other cat bed.

Embarrassingly my next door neighbour knocked on my door yesterday and said my flat is far too cold for my cats and they shouldn’t have to pay for my hot flashes. I have to up my game before she has them again at Christmas!

Maybe try flipping a corner of the duvet over, Girlcat snuggles under that if she'd feeling cold, then Boycat comes up & plugs the opening for her
