Cat gone wild

Has anyone had a cat that chooses to live in the wild. Ours left home a month ago and now lives with two other cats that roam at night. She came back yesterday with one of them and howled, but ran away when we called her name. We left food and they are it. She was never s friendly cat. We had her for a year and she was about 5 months old when we got her. I just find it odd, as everyone else's cats seem to enjoy having a home. We live in the centre of a city. No idea where she goes or what she eats

She may have taken up residence in someone elses home, any chance she could be pregnant? One of our cats left home but occasionally came back just to say hello and spend the night when it was really cold.

She is neutered, so doubt she is pregnant. Just seems to be under the spell of the strays. I wonder if she will return when it gets cold. It has been so mild here
