Cat allergy and second hand sweater

Hi Everyone,

I have bad cat allergy and I ended up buying a second hand cashmere sweater from a shop which triggered all my nasty symptoms. Unfortunately, I ended up washing this sweater with a bunch of others before realizing this. Is it game over for them? Does washing eliminate the allergens (or) would they have spread to the other clothing? Help!!!

do you react to cashmere as well? I do, can't wear it.

I don't think it has 'contaminated' the rest of the laundry, but I add another rinse&spin anyway due to eczema prone family.

when I receive clothes from family with cats, I wash separately once and then with the normal wash a second time.

No I'm usually fine with cashmere. I'll do another wash and a double rinse and see if I'm OK. Thanks :-)
