Moving house

I'm moving house soon (about 20 miles) and was hoping for some suggestions.

I thought a battery for the day before & day (& night) of the move.

Is there anything else?

I've read I should keep him in for a while once we've moved. Not sure how long though as he's very used to being out & about with the cat flap.

I think it depends on your cat really. We've moved four times with our cat and to be honest it's never fazed her in the slightest. We do tend to keep her in initially but every time she has managed to escape much earlier than we would have chosen and she just has an explore then comes back in. She always a bit "on alert" but settles really quickly. She's been used to going to my parents for weekends etc since she was a kitten so that may have helped. I know others do get stressed however.

Unless a day or two in a cattery would stress him out it sounds like a good idea
