We got our first cat today. She’s around 1 year old, so far she’s just been in one room. I have three children, one of whom Is 3. So far so good. Any tips?

She's gorgeous. Don't leave the 3 year old alone with the cat, pets and toddlers need supervision as injuries can result - in both directions!

Aww, she's gorgeous. What's her name?

She’s Bella.

She looks very wise. Let her do things at her own pace. Keep her in the same room for a few days, at least, and when the children aren't around let her have a wonder around the rest of the house. If she's a fairly relaxed cat, she'll probably settle in quickly, but if she's a bit of a scaredy cat, she'll need a lot more time and quiet. Has she got a box or something she can retreat into, if she needs to and some toys?

You've done a lovely thing. Happy catting.

It was the 2nd anniversary of us adopting my little princess from the RSPCA yesterday. Best thing we've ever done.
