Can anyone advise please, I have a male kitten 4 months old had him since 8 weeks he's gorgeous the loviest friendliest little thing, but he's started eating everything the cats food the dogs food he goes mad for food in the morning he nearly attacks me for his breakfast, fair enough he said hungry in the morning feed him he will go mad to get up at the cats food at first I'd let him have some but I've realised it's too rich for him he's getting diarrhoea so I don't let him but trying to keep hi, away from the dogs food is harder the dog can't jump up high and have her food I was feeding her outside but bad weather I've her inside getting it the cats eating it and getting diarrhoea almost immediately then wiping his bum along the floor that's driving me mad, the kitten doesn't go outside by his own choice I have expensive cat litter so that's not a problem it's cleaning his bum on the floor that's really annoying

The other morning he went to the toilet in a plant then he was running down the hall cleaning his bum my husband saw him and thought he'd broken his back legs now that was funny 😀

His anal glands might be blocked, it's not normal for a cat to wipe his bum like that.

I would get him checked out by a vet, mine had it and the vet sorted him out.

I would keep him in a seperate room until all animals have finished breakfast.

What food are you giving him and how often?

DumbledoresApprentice · 01/10/2017 11:14

Could he have worms?

dementedpixie · 01/10/2017 11:37

When did he last have a worming treatment?

Thanks for replies I never thought of anal glands or worms he's actually never had a worm dose I will get a worm dose, i have made sure he's eating anything else only kitten food the last few days and his diarrhoea is gone, so I think it was the food causing it. I keep his bowl topped up it's always emptied in the morning and he's starving
