Dd's cat has come in very muddy laid on dd's bed and can't walk! She's growled at us and went to bite which is def not like her. Friend who's ex vet nurse has been and thinks it's her back so she's had metacalm and is calmer. This cat is rapidly using her 9 lives so praying it's nothing serious and counting hours till vets opens.

How terrible :( Hope she's ok. Did your friend say what she thinks is wrong with her back?

Oh, poor thing. Glad she's had a painkiller. Does she have any for the morning? I suppose it could be anything, but hit by a car or severe cat fight, immediately come to mind. Are her claws scuffed? If she's been hit by a car, that's often a dead give away. Keep her as contained as you can over night, until you get her to the vet in the morning. Hope all goes well.

Any news?

I got up at 5 and she'd moved, after a small panic she was found curled in her own bed halfway up cat tree. She came down on her own for breakfast at 7 looking stiff but far happier.
I've felt every leg one of which she wagged her tail at but was happy to be cuddled and was purring again. Her pads are fine just muddy and there's one tiny cut on that leg.
Dh said she was chasing other cat like a loon earlier in evening so maybe pulled something.....she's doesn't seem in a lot of pain and hasn't had more metacalm so after Friends advice again we are going to watch and wait. If I feel she goes downhill again I can get her in vets fairly quickly. She's a tiny thing and seems to get in to scrapes regularly, last time she had to have two claws removed after another unknown incident so really hoping she decides being a house cat is a better idea!

Glad to hear she's feeling better! How little is she?
