Will my cat hate me? Lighthearted!

Me and DP have gone away for the weekend and our lovely cat has gone into a cattery for the first time - (he's only 6 months)

In people's experience, how will he be when we pick him up? I've been told to expect him to ignore us for a bit!

Also, I've never really been a pet owner and I cannot believe how attached I've got to my lovely cat that I actually miss him on a weekend away!!

How sad! Grin

He will probably sulk and ignore you for a few days. He is your master and don't forget that!! Give him a few days and he will return to his normal self Smile

Nah. He will exact a special kind of revenge though. Grin

He'll be pure raging. I advise a catnip filled mousie toy and a pocketful of dreamies Grin

Haha I was expecting a reply like that Grin I have ham in the fridge ready for his return!

My two went for their first cattery stay this year. They were both super affectionate and all over me when we got home. I was expecting the big sulk.

Oyrs went to the cattery for a lon weekend for the first time last week. One sulked for 12 hours but I woke up to her lying on my chest, nose dripping...The other sulked for 2 days and ignored me, although he was affectionate to the rest of the family - he knew I took him!

Oh toddlertea that's so lovely! I'm hoping he is just excited to see us. We both dropped him off but I was the one who managed to coax him out of his carrier, and he was looking at me as we were leaving like 'mum... where are you going?' Haha bless him.

He's home! And doesn't hate me! I'm currently having cuddles on the sofa. He even jumped into my lap whilst I was on the loo.
He was very scared when we picked him up, he miaowed when he saw me but was shaking all over I imagine cause he was being moved again.
Can't believe I am so attached to a cat. A cat!!!

Oh mine are fine when they come back. Is it a nice cattery with lots for him to do? They say the younger the better. Mine was only four months the first time but she was fine.

Parmaviolets13 · 17/09/2017 20:41

It's smaller than the website leads you to believe, but the lady there is lovely and she genuinely loves it so the cats are in their element 😄
He's having a snooze by himself now on the landing, weird thing. Beds much comfier.

I felt really smug when I went to collect my pair and one of them came out to see me when she heard my voice and hissed at the cattery owner standing next to me.

Parmaviolets13 · 17/09/2017 21:59

Ahahah that made me laugh! Albus hissed but it was at the cat next to him as I carried him out 😄 Never heard him hiss before it was bizarre. Here he is being very cosy
