My cat has gone missing, feeling sad

Boo boo boo.
My cat has gone missing - she's a rescue cat we got last year, and has not really been out very much. In the last few weeks she has been out more, but she now hasn't been seen since Sunday afternoon. This is sooo unlike her - she's very timid and scared of strangers and doesn't roam.
I've spent hours walking round calling her, put flyers through doors nearby and gone on facebook.

I can't think of anything else to do and she'll have hated this weather. I just really miss her and the house feels different.

Boo

Have you tried knocking on neighbours' doors and asking them to check their sheds and garages? One of ours has got herself shut in a shed twice now.

Fingers crossed for you.Flowers It is horrible when they are missing.

Do you have a cat flap?

I would be worried about her being trapped in shed/garage. I would go round knocking on doors and asking if they can check their shed while you're there. It seems to be the most effective way to get people to do it.

Of course if they are typical mumsnetters they won't answer their doors, which is something that bugs the hell out of me. Anyway, give it a go, and good luck.

I think I read something (on here probably) that putting their litter tray outside can help.

Hope you find her soon.

She has just wandered back in!!!! She's very pleased to be back and purring her head off! I think she may have been shut in somewhere and maybe my flyers did the trick?

Yay!!!!! Happiness is here!

Thank heavens for that!

Great news!

I remember when my beloved cat suddenly disappeared a few years ago and I spent 2 weeks walking the streets/knocking on doors/putting up posters/flyers etc.

My neighbour found her in his garden under a load of shrubbery as he was cutting back his garden for the winter. She'd been literally within a few yards of me all that time Sad

So happy to hear a happy ending to a missing loved cat x
