Cat has cut his leg

Our cat has just come home with a wound on his front leg. He's walking fine but he cried when I touched it. It's not deep, it just looks quite sore. I'm a natural worry wart, especially when it comes to my boys and I would have him to the vet tomorrow but DH thinks it's probably not necessary and it'll heal. Besides, both he and I won't be home before 7.30 tomorrow evening so unlikely we could get to the vet anyway. Will it just heal on its own? Obviously I'll keep an eye on it but should I have him to the vets?
We're not used to this! We're used to eye infections, damaged nasal tubes and poorly ears (they're rather high maintenance Grin)

Your cat needs to see a vet ASAP as it is likely it will need antibiotics.

Thanks, having one more person on my side persuaded DH I wasn't being too precious. Turns out he's been bitten by another cat so needed antibiotics. I managed to escape work for an hour to take him and I'm pleased I did
