Hi everyone. My 20 month old cats ears are irritating her. She has proper flea prescribed stuff which i used a week ago. Been to the vets thought was ear mites but vet checked her ears and was all clear. No other injuries etc and shes in good health. Eats drinks and plays and goes out to. He said could be a allergy as no mites or fleas. Shes been in my neighbours garden alot lately in long grass. He said if dont clear up in a week a steroid injection maybe. But didnt think she needed it now. Anyone elses cat been through this as im still worried. Tia

Try to avoid steroids if you can, they have side effects which are best avoided if poss.

Might be bites from midge type bugs or mozzies, or corn mites. They die down in a few weeks.

My cat gets itchy skin and a swollen lip from time to time, probably due to an allergy to something we can't trace - the vet has told me I can give her piriton to relieve it (1/4 or 1/2 of a 4mg tablet, once a day, as required). The only problem now is getting her to take it!
