Cattery query

Opinions please.
Picked cat up from cattery after a long weekend. Cat is a longhair and not friendly to strangers so cattery staff tend to leave her alone.
Got her home and she smelled bad so we checked and her rear end was covered with poo. Didn't seem to have just happened either, bit dried on.

She was ok when we dropped her off.

It does happen periodically but you can tell straight away because of the smell.

Had to perform the old bum wash.

If this happens, is this something the cattery staff should sort out? She lets us sort it out but I'm not sure about strangers. She can lash out.
Would hate to think of her left like that though if she was there say for a week.

What should happen in a cattery in these circs?

That's s difficult one. If she can lash out then they might have felt that cleaning her would have caused her undue distress and it wouldn't harm her for a few days. However if that was the decision yhey made they should have let you know and made sure you were aware of how long she had been dirty and why.

That is a good point. They didn't mention it.
