Kitten Advice

Hi all,

We adopted 2 10 week old brothers last week, they are adorable. However it's been a long time since I've had kittens, and I could really do with some advice.

They poo a lot, and I mean a lot, is this normal? I am feeding them 3 times a day with wet food, and leaving a bowl of biscuits out all the time. The food is the same as the foster lady was feeding them. Is it too much?

They are slowly becoming more sociable, sitting near us, sleeping near us etc but should I be picking them up more - don't want to scare them. Aargh this is hard, any help/tips/reassurance appreciated.

Sorry this post got missed.

I wouldn't worry how much you feed them. Give them as much as they want. They are growing. When they become adult you need to keep an eye on their weight - otherwise I wouldn't worry.

And yes, a lot of eating means a lot of shit.

And yes, I would try to handle them as much as you can. Even if they don't seem to like it. It's the only way to get them used to it.

Thank you. We will try cuddling them more. Our last cat was an adult rescue, so we're out of the habit of kittens. They are so lovely.
