Stroke?

Hi all, dh has just called me at work to tell me he thinks our cat might have had a stroke as she suddenly keeps falling over. Otherwise she seems ok (appetite normal and wants to do what she normally does).

I am leaving work now to go home (2 hour drive) and have booked a vet appt for first thing tomorrow, which vet thought was ok. Any suggestions of what to look for when I see her and what to do? What might turn this into an emergency?

Our lovely cat is 18, otherwise In good health, appears much younger than her age. We lost her mum last year so I really hope we aren't suddenly going to lose her too. She is daft but we love her.

Any words of wisdom appreciated as I've not been in this situation before and other than keeping her fed, watered, comfy, access to litter tray and company don't know what else she might need.

How is she?.

Very wobbly on her feet, can't walk in straight line. Doesn't want her usual food - but wants her dreamies though! I rang the vet, she's still due in tomorrow morning. I'm very worried.

Sorry she's poorly. I think I'd take her in tonight to be honest, if only to put my mind at rest.

I can't believe they're not more concerned. Is she toileting?

Update! Sorry all, very hectic day. I must admit I was surprised they weren't more concerned. BUT - happily she seemed a bit brighter this morning and the vet examined her, said it was probably a mini stroke but that she might / will recover. She is feeding ok - less than usual but she is still interested - and the litter tray we left for her last night (she usually goes outside) was used. So fingers crossed that she is ok tonight. Thank you for your company during this.

Well that is good news. Is she more prone to them now?.

She will be more prone to them, yes. Wolfing her food down today though, happily!
